Welcome to Focal Point Proofreading!
As a legal transcript proofreader, I combine my love of words and language with my passion for helping others, my appreciation for precision, and my extensive training in proofreading legal transcripts.
My meticulous eye for detail and ability to focus makes me a wonderful choice for court reporters who are looking for an extra pair of eyes to help make their transcripts clean, readable, and ready for submission.
I have consistently worked as a freelance proofreader since 2017. My training included over 3,000 pages of practice transcripts. I recently took a class in medical terminology, which is particularly helpful when reading depositions of doctors. In addition, I am familiar with Morson’s English Guide for Court Reporters, The Gregg Reference Manual, and Bad Grammar/Good Punctuation by Margie Wakeman Wells.
I proofread via PDF and return annotated pages.
My proofreading services include:
- Punctuation suggestions to promote readability.
- Reviewing names, addresses, page numbers, and more for accuracy.
- Checking for contextual, technical, and formatting errors.
- Proofreading according to each court reporter’s individual preferences.
